Hot Hot Hot

SFGATE has been tracking which corners of the San Francisco Bay Area are likely to see the hottest temperatures in the region on Tuesday during the California heat wave.

The National Weather Service is predicting Walnut Creek to hit 119 degrees, and Danville is expected to reach 120 degrees.

Rolling Blackouts

Depending on which part of Livermore you live in, you may have lost power on Monday night. Due to the heatwave, California’s grid operator issued a Flex Alert on Tuesday, calling on consumers to reduce electricity use.

Do your part when/where you can and let’s hope the power stays on.

Things you can do at home:

-Turn AC up to 78 degrees, close the shades and turn on the fans

-Turn lights off in rooms when not in use

-Unplug appliances from wall when not in use

-Don’t use larger appliances from 4-9 p.m.

-Meal prep food ahead of time

Cooling Centers Open

Hopefully, you are able to stay inside with the AC on either at home and/or at work. If needed, Contra Costa County has opened three Cooling Centers.

Find them located at the Brentwood Community Center at 35 Oak St. in Brentwood, open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 151 Sand Creek Road in Brentwood from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Concord Senior Center at 2727 Parkside Circle in Concord, open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday to Friday. Also, check out 40 Douglas Drive in Martinez and 1305 Mcdonald Ave. in Richmond.

You can always escape the heat and find cool air at any of the county’s 21 library branches. Livermore Library is located at 1188 S Livermore Ave.
