It’s Rodeo Time in livermore!

Yeehaw! It is officially rodeo time in Livermore, California. Every June you can expect all the cowboys and cowgirls to load up their horse trailers and make their way out to Robertson Park for “The World’s Fastest Rodeo”. The PRCA Rodeo takes place on Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th with various events taking place daily. This is such a great time for our community to come together and celebrate our hometown rodeo. The weather is going to be perfect, so what better way to spend your weekend that at the rodeo.

Here is a little breakdown of the events leading up to the rodeo:

1.Annual Livermore Rodeo Team Branding and Mixer

On Wednesday, June 8th, the 41st Annual Livermore Rodeo Team Branding and Mixer starts at 4:30 P.M This event is located at the Livermore Valley Stadium. A delicious Tri-Trip dinnner plus all of the extra fixin’s will be served, and special guest Ryan Scipps from NBC’s ” The Voice” will be preforming. All ages are welcome. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

2. Local Team Roping and Wild Cow Milking

On Thursday, June 9th, our favorite local Team Ropers will come together to compete. Also, Wild Cow Milking is always a fun family favorite to see. Admission is free, slack starts at 6 P.M. Usually, this event is associated with Family Night, but this year it has been cancelled. No food or drinks will be available.

3. Cowgirl Luncheon

On Friday, June 10th the Cowgirl Luncheon will be held from noon-three p.m. This is a lunch brought to you by the Livermore Rodeo Foundation recognizing local scholarship recipients and this years cowgirl honoree.  Lunch includes choices of Hors D’oeuvres, steak or chicken along with sides. A silent auction will be held. Tickets are available for purchase in advance.

Then, it’s what we call, Rodeo time on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday morning at 10 am is the official Rodeo Parade taking place Downtown Livermore. In addition, Saturday at the rodeo is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” day. Sunday is “Patriot Day” where you are invited to wear red, white and blue. Gates open at 11 A.M and Grand Entry starts at 3 P.M. Grand entry is the start of the rodeo featuring Livermore Rodeo Stagecoaches, rodeo personnel, sponsor flags, the Livermore Rodeo Queens, and visitng Queens, as well as the previous years’ Queen presenting the American Flag.

Throughout the rodeo, you will see events such as Bareback, Tie Down Roping, Local Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Wild Cow Milking, Steer Wrestling, PRCA Team Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.
