Buzzin’ All About Gerard’Z Honeybees

Honey

Did you know that honey dates back to 2100 B.C? Me either. I guess that is now another one of those things I can add to the forever growing list of ” I was today year’s old when I learned….”

Just like cannabis, honey has been known and used for healing purposes. “Honey aids in allergies, arthritis, burns, cancer, cholesterol, colitis, cuts, heart disease, sore throats and even weight loss. When combined with other substances like cider vinegar, cinnamon, ginger and more, honey has even more health benefits”.

Personally, I have used local honey to help with allergies over the year and noticed a big difference. When you’re not feeling 100% and have that dreaded sore throat, honey in your tea saves the day every time. Why buy just any honey from the grocery store when you can buy local honey and support your community?

We are so lucky to have access to Gerard’Z Honeybees right here in Liverrmore, California for all our honey needs.

Sweet Honeybees

Gerard’Z Honeybees began nearly 120 years ago as a family farming necessity. The first beekeeper and patriarch, Gerard, cultivated the hive over the years and later passed down his knowledge through four generations.

As of today, Gerard’Z Honeybees is “cross-pollinating” through Bay Area and Central Valley; including San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma, Clarksburg, Stockton, Manteca, Modesto,Turlock, Tracy, Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, Danville, Castro Valley, Hayward, and Felton.

What’s the Buzz

Gerard’Z Honeybees offers workshops ( intro + advanced) for students to learn all things bees. The experience then transforms from a class to a tasting where students are invited to sample wildly different monofloral honeys. In the advanced workshop, students will also receive a 1-2 hour experience working beehives with an instructor. Fore more information, click here.
